Manta Point & Vertigo

We were filled with excitement as we embarked on our trip to YAP. After a long journey from Zurich to Tokyo and then via Guam, we finally arrived on this enchanting island. One of the highlights of our adventure was visiting Manta Point, a famous spot where large Manta rays gather to be cleaned. We eagerly dove into the crystal-clear waters, hoping for a close encounter with these majestic creatures. To our delight, we witnessed several graceful Manta rays gliding through the water, being cleaned by smaller fish. It was an incredible experience that left us amazed by the wonders of nature..

Yap offered more than just amazing marine life. The island’s rich cultural heritage added an extra layer of fascination to our trip. We had the opportunity to immerse ourselves in local traditions, explore airplane wrecks from the Pacific War, and learn about the history of the Yapese people. The warmth and hospitality of the locals made us feel truly welcomed, creating lasting memories. Additionally, the Manta Bay resort and its staff were amazing. One of the highlights was the restaurant, which was built in an old sailboat.

Our journey to Yap was an unforgettable adventure that combined incredible underwater encounters with immersive cultural experiences. From the thrilling dives at Manta Point to the captivating interactions with the Yapese people, every moment was filled with wonder and discovery. Yap exceeded our expectations, and we left with a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and cultural richness of this remote paradise. Our hearts were full of gratitude, and we can’t wait to return to Yap, a place that holds a special place in our hearts.
